Warren S. Orlando
Chairman of the Board of Directors, 1st United Bank
Warren Orlando is chairman of the board of 1st United Bank. His
successful commercial banking career has spanned nearly 30 years.
Mr. Orlando co-founded the former 1st United Bancorp and 1st United
Bank in 1987, where he served as its president and chief executive
officer. Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, the former 1st United Bancorp,
a public company traded on the Nasdaq exchange, grew to a one billion
dollar asset commercial bank holding company operating through a
33 branch system stretching from Central to Southeast Florida. The
company was sold to Wachovia Bank in 1997 as its first entrance
into the Florida banking market, which was at a premium in the top
five percent of the country at the time.
Warren Orlando received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics
from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey, and a
graduate degree from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers
University, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Mr. Orlando has served in a number of leadership positions for
business, cultural, charitable and civic organizations throughout
Palm Beach County and Florida. He has been recognized in Boca Raton,
Palm Beach County and regionally for his business, civic, cultural
and philanthropic leadership on numerous occasions.

Rudy E. Schupp
President and Chief Executive Officer, 1st United Bank
Rudy Schupp is the president and chief executive officer of 1st
United Bank. Mr. Schupp’s commercial banking career includes
employment with KeyCorp, Albany, New York and First Union, Charlotte,
North Carolina. He co-founded Republic Security Corporation and
Republic Security Bank in 1984 and served as its chairman and chief
executive officer. Headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, Republic
Security grew to a $3.4 billion asset commercial bank holding company,
which operated through a 93-branch system spanning from Central
Florida to Southeast Florida. Wachovia Bank purchased Republic Security
in 2001 for more than $380 million.
Rudy Schupp is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of
Albany, Albany, New York, and received a Masters of Business Administration
magna cum laude from Syracuse University, Syracuse New York. He
is past president of the Florida Bankers Association and a current
director of the Federal Reserve of Atlanta, Miami district. Mr.
Schupp is the past chairman of the American Banker’s Association
(ABA) national privacy task force and of the organization’s
“BITS” board.
Mr. Schupp has received a number of honors from national, regional
and local organizations for his business and civic leadership. These
awards include the American Free Enterprise Award medal from Palm
Beach Atlantic College, Sun-Sentinel Excalibur Award, and the Business
Leader of the Year award from Palm Beach Gardens Chamber of Commerce.
He is the past president of the Palm Beach County Business Development
Board, a past trustee of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council,
and has served as a director or trustee for such organizations as
Florida Stage, Jupiter Police Pension Board, Palm Beach Opera, Leadership
Palm Beach and the Economic Council of Palm Beach. Mr. Schupp is
currently a trustee of The Benjamin School.

John Marino, CPA
Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
John Marino serves as the chief financial officer and chief operating
officer of 1st United Bank. Most recently he served as chief financial
officer for SBA Communications Corporation, a telecommunications
firm that is one of the leading independent owner/operators of wireless
infrastructure in the United States.
A graduate of Stetson University, Deland, Florida, Mr. Marino is a licensed certified public accountant. He began his career with Ernst & Young where he managed audits in financial services, real estate, governmental and commercial industries and evaluated and supervised numerous Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration statements and filings. In 1992 he joined the former 1st United Bank and 1st United Bancorp as treasurer and chief financial officer. Mr. Marino modeled and evaluated all acquisitions and did all budgeting, forecasting and regulatory audits and reporting. He worked with president and CEO, Warren Orlando to negotiate the sale of the former 1st United Bancorp to Wachovia Corporation at a premium in the top five percent of the country in 1997.
Mr. Marino is President of the School Board for Lake Worth Christian School.
